Senegal Powers Up with Tires
Thursday, March 9, 2017  Printer Friendly Email this article

Senegal’s alternative energy sector received a boost with the bringing of a waste-to-power plant online. The waste-to-energy plant takes tires and plastics and turns them into fuel in the township of Nguekokh.

The $1.8-million plant was built and financed entirely by business people from British Columbia and was designed and built by Vancouver engineering design firm Balanced Power Engineering Inc., which is also an investor in the project.
