The government of Tanzania plans to start exploiting the geothermal energy of Lake Ngozi in Mbeya in 2018 to generate electricity.

According to reports out of the East African country, a feasibility study was completed for two other geothermal projects also in Songwe and Mbaka Kiejo areas.

The projects could ultimately add a further 200 MW of power to Tanzania’s power grid by 2025.
