Chinese Firm to Develop 500 MW Solar Plant in Uganda

In a February 17 “Voluntary Announcement” to investors, China Energy Engineering Corporation Limited reported that its subsidiary China Gezhouba Group International Engineering Co., Ltd has entered into a framework contract for a 500-MW photovoltaic power generation project in Uganda (the “Project”).

The total installed capacity of the Project is to be approximately 500 MW and would be constructed in two phases under and EPC model. Gezhouba International Company will execute the Project as the exclusive EPC contractor. The preliminary scope of work under the EPC contract includes designing, procuring, constructing and performing trials for the 500 MW photovoltaic power generation project. The contract amount of the Project is approximately $500 million
