An 8-MWp solar park recently came online in the Somalian capital of Mogadishu. BECO, the state power utility, commissioned the facility which will power 300,000 BECO customers for four hours per day.
The new clean energy generates will save the country costly import bills and reduce reliance on diesel generators.
BECO is looking to expand its renewable energy output and hopes to reach 100 MW by 2022 to serve its severely under-electrified nation.
