Cameroonian President Paul Biya has reshuffled his cabinet, removing Ephraim Inoni from the top spot. Biya, in an effort to placate the growing discontent of his people over rising prices and corruption, has taken Inoni out of the Prime Minister slot.
Philemon Yang, a former diplomat and senior official in the presidency, will now head the government. Political analysts said the reshuffle had not been completely unexpected given that the prime minister had been in place for several years and that corruption accusations against the government had intensified recently.
Biya, who has been in power for 27 years, is expected to stand for reelection in 2011.
