Tunisia, World Bank Sign $55M Deal for RE

Tunisia and the World Bank have signed a $55 million Energy Efficiency Project deal to be implemented over four years. It was first announced in April that Tunisia was creating an energy efficient program as the National Agency of Energy Conservation (ANME) director Mounir Bahri said the plan aims to reduce energy consumption by 3% each year.

Funds are to be dispersed to three commercial banks – Amen Bank, Banque de l’Habitat, and Banque pour le Financement des Petites et Moyennes Entreprises – which will implement their own lending policies to eligible companies.
