Getting geared for the strategy workshop set to take place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from October 9-10, the World Future Council (WFC) has announced some key speakers to be included in the line-up. The workshop titled “Renewable Energy Policies for Sustainable African Development” will be chaired by WFC member Dr. Tewolde Berhan Gebre Egziabher, Director General of the Ethiopian Environmental Protection Authority.
Presentations will be given by Dipal C. Barua, Grameen Shakti managing director; Dr. Ibrahim Abouleish, Sekem founder; Hilawe Tesema, Network for Sustainable Energy Development; Dr. Kwame Ampofo, CEO Tema Oil Refinery; and Thembani Bukula, Nersa head of electricity, just to name a few. Discussions will be held regarding financing renewable energy projects, sustainable and cost efficient products for rural Africa like cooking solutions, and feed-in tariffs.
