Solar Power Africa Launches Dynamic Program Designed to Empower Africa’s Energy Future

Press Release

Solar Power Africa’s 3rd annual exhibition and conference will occur February 7-9, 2024, at the Cape Town International Convention Centre. A dynamic program for Solar Power Africa was launched with insightful and engaging plenaries, keynote speeches, and breakaway sessions, and it was carefully curated to ensure attendees were empowered to deliver on Africa’s solar potential.

“Africa is blessed with an abundance of sunshine. We know that we have the potential to tap into the continent’s incredible capacity to generate solar power. And while significant progress has been made both at an individual household level as well as at the utility scale, there is more that needs to be done if we are to give every African access to cheap, secure, and sustainable energy,” said Michael Dehn, Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt SA.

The theme for Solar Power Africa 2024 is Empowering Africa’s Energy Future: Solar and Storage Solutions for Sustainable Development, and the conference will explore and unpack the future of solar and storage, chart a path to sustainable development, and look at opportunities to secure investment and encourage collaborations that will deliver on Africa’s solar promise.

“Our aim with Solar Power Africa is to provide support to the renewable energy companies contributing to the growth of the African clean energy market. Collaborating with an experienced organizer like Messe Frankfurt has given us a powerful platform to help achieve this goal,” said Stephen Miner, CEO and President, RE+ Events.

Solar Power Africa is an event dedicated solely to solar power and energy storage and is expected to attract over 80 exhibitors operating in this dynamic market. Throughout the three-day conference and exhibition, attendees can attend four plenary sessions, four keynote addresses, and 14 specialized breakaway sessions and hear from more than 80 expert speakers across the energy industry.

Organized by Messe Frankfurt, Solar Power Africa is presented in partnership with RE+ Events (formerly Solar Power Events) and fully endorsed by the South Africa Energy Storage Association (SAESA), Circular Energy, the African Solar Industry Association (AFSIA), and Green Cape.
