PFO Inks Deal for 52-MW Solar PV Plant in Cote D’Ivoire

PFO Energies has inked a deal with the government of Cote d’Ivoire for a 52MW solar photovoltaic (PV) independent power plant in Sokhoro.

Under a power purchase agreement (PPA), a PFO subsidiary will oversee the design, financing, construction, operation and transfer of the plant to be located in the city of Ferkessedougou.

The plant has a slated capacity for the production of 90GWh of clean energy during its first year of operation and will supply over 370,000 people with electricity. The term of the concession agreement is 25 years.

Ferke Solar, another PFO Africa subsidiary, will finance the estimated €60 million required to complete the project.

Construction of the facility is set to get started in H2 and it is estimated the project will take 14 months to complete.

During the signing ceremony, Mamadou Coulibaly, Minister of Mines, Petroleum & Energy said, “This is a project that will contribute to the creation of 150 direct jobs during the construction phase and generate 15 permanent direct jobs during the operation phase.”
