Berkeley Energy Works to Progress Mungo Hydro Project in Cameroon

Berkeley Energy Cameroon Corp. (BECC) announced that its team recently conducted a successful site visit with the Ministère de l’Eau et de l’Énergie (MINEE) in Cameroon regarding the Mungo Falls Hydro Project in the Southwest region.

Berkely Energy has issued a tender for an energy demand study for the Mungo Falls project, a 95 MW hydroelectric project located 15 km from the city of Kumba in the Southwest region, that is planned to be integrated into the national grid under the Interconnected Southern Grid Network.  The tender deadline was recently extended from May 15 to May 31 to provide all interested bidders with additional time to prepare and submit their proposals.

The MINEE team, led by Benoit Choupo Fodjo, Sub-director of Energy Demand, had the opportunity to observe the progress made by BECC and engage with the local administration, economic stakeholders, and the community.

Choupo outlined the key role Mungo Falls would play in meeting the energy demand in surrounding cities, and presented the other benefits the project would bring to the region. He encouraged the community to support Berkeley Energy in this venture.
