Wind Energy Agreement Inked Under Egypt Vision 2030

The Egyptian South Valley Petroleum Company and the New and Renewable Energy Development and Use Authority signed a cooperation protocol aimed at coordinating work in the field of oil research and electricity generation from wind energy in Sohag and Aswan governorates.

The protocol was signed by Engineer Ashraf Baha, the president of the Egyptian South Valley Petroleum Company, and Dr. Mohamed Mustafa Khayat, the executive president of the New and Renewable Energy Development and Use Authority.

This cooperation allows the integration of the oil and electricity sectors to make the most of the oil resources and the enormous wind energy possibilities in the governorates of Sohag and Aswan, which contributes to supporting the national economy and achieving sustainable development in the framework of Egypt Vision 2030.

Following the signing, Engineer Ashraf Baha confirmed that this protocol comes within the framework of the petroleum sector’s strategy to promote partnerships and integration with various bodies and institutions for optimal utilization of oil exploration, development and production sites.

On his side, Dr. Mohamed Mustafa explained the importance of this cooperation in promoting national efforts to achieve the benefit and expansion of the use of new and renewable energy in electrical power generation.
