Frost & Sullivan to Acknowledge Best Practices in Africa

Frost & Sullivan, the growth partnership company, will host its second annual African Excellence Awards Banquet at the Hilton Sandton Hotel, South Africa on 25 November 2009. The banquet will recognise companies that have become leaders in a number of sectors across sub-Saharan Africa.

The evening will celebrate the impact that the products and services offered by these companies are making across a range of markets, including healthcare, chemicals, water and wastewater, security systems, facilities management and industrial automation. “

This is an opportunity for us to acknowledge industry leaders that are setting best practices in a range of fields across the continent,” says Frost & Sullivan Partner and Operations Director for Africa Phil Howarth. “Our awards programme is globally recognised for identifying companies with tremendous growth potential, and we bring those same standards to the African event.”

The Frost & Sullivan Best Practices Awards Programme is a leading platform for recognising both international and local companies active on the continent. Awards to be given on the night will honour accomplishments in categories such as customer service leadership, market leadership, competitive strategy leadership and innovation. “

Africa has garnered new interest from investors over the last year as the economic slowdown in developed economies has heightened the awareness of opportunities here,” says Howarth. “Our awards programme highlights those companies that taking advantage of the undeniable growth potential that exists in sub-Saharan Africa.”

The keynote address for the banquet will be delivered by the CEO of Optimal Energy, Kobus Meiring. Optimal Energy is a South African company focused on establishing an electric vehicle industry in the country. Meiring’s presentation will focus on delivering innovation in an African context.

The presentation of the Awards will be preceded by a champagne reception from 18h30. The awards ceremony and dinner will take place from 19h30.
