According to reports, Eziuche Chinwe Ubani, chairman of the Nigerian House of Representatives Committee on Climate Change, the US and other developed nations should pay Africans for the degradation of their lands resulting from natural resource exploitation.
According to a report in the Global Post, Ubani said, "Of course I think we should ask for money from developed countries. They have used resources and energy-often our resources- to grow and become developed."
This December during the Climate Change Summit to be held in Copenhagen, a number of developing countries worldwide will seek to have industrialized countries help fund the effort to slow global warming.
