New Power Inverter Introduced to Regulate Energy Management

MLT Drives has introduced a new product, the Power Star power inverter – for managing energy regulation after increased demand for alternative energy systems as a result of South Africa’s lingering energy crisis.

As the market continues to extend past commercial use to private use, South African homeowners have begun investing in renewable energy schemes. The Power Star is able to deliver alternative energy acting as a power substitute or to supply electricity to off-grid users. The inverter transfers power simultaneously, while a battery charger and solar regulator is included with the device to ensure maximum power supply.

South Africa’s renewable energy feed-in tariff (Refit) plan will allow owners of the product to sell acquired solar energy to Eskom. And with continued complaints over Eskom’s dealings, this is a way for many to voice their complaints by using the state-owned utility as little as possible. William Bason, an MLT Drives customer said: "There is a certain peace of mind one feels living in a home with a zero carbon footprint. There is a new sense of security in knowing you are immune to not only power failures but bad quality power which damages the appliances in your home.”
