Portuguese Prime Minister Travels to North Africa to Discuss Energy Agreements

Portugal’s Prime Minister Jose Socrates is visiting North African countries this week kicking off with Libya and then traveling to Algeria, Tunisia, and Morocco. The visit will include discussions about Portugal’s involvement in the energy sectors of these countries.

 

Socrates landed today in Libya to meet with Libyan President and African Union leader Muammar Qaddafi before traveling to Algeria tomorrow to visit President Abdelaziz Bouteflika, participating in a seminar on renewable energy. Keeping RE a priority, the Prime Minister will travel to Tunisia to be present at the second Luso-Tunisian summit to sign several cooperation agreements before meeting with Morocco’s Prime Minister Abbas El Fassi.
