Release
The Conference Program for the 18th European Biomass Conference (May 3-7, 2010) and Exhibition (May 3-6, 2010) is available. A total of 872 abstracts have been received for the 18th EU BC&E. Following the conclusions of the abstract review process, the international Conference Scientific Committee, made up of more than 100 representatives from research and industry, put together a challenging program of over 800 plenary, oral and visual presentations. In May, participants from over 70 countries are expected to attend the world’s largest specialized Biomass Conference in Lyon. Each of the five Conference days offers a wide-ranging variety of presentations from all areas of Biomass.
The Conference Program covers
BIOMASS RESOURCES
BIOMASS CONVERSION TO HEAT, ELECTRICITY, AND BIO-PRODUCTS
FUELS FROM BIOMASS
INDUSTRIAL DEMONSTRATION AND MARKET IMPLEMENTATION
POLICIES AND ENSURING SUSTAINABILITY
Each of these topics will be discussed in depth from different points of view and by lecturers with broad professional backgrounds. Prof. Josef Spitzer, Conference General Chairman of the 18th EU BC&E, remarks: “Presenters and participants will learn about the latest developments in these conference topics and to exchange expertise. Oral and visual presentations in the Conference sessions will be supplemented by topical workshops and policy debates outlining the bioenergy options and their contribution to meeting the world’s future energy demand”. Prof. Spitzer adds: ”Together with the opportunity to see practical applications of bioenergy systems in the Exhibition, the conference will make it worthwhile to come to Lyon, part of UNESCO, World Heritage and second largest city in France that has been a forerunner in promoting bioenergy”
The Opening Ceremony will take place on Monday, May 3, 2010, at 10.00 am. The daily Conference Program starts at 8.30 am with highlight plenary presentations followed by a unique and carefully selected combination of presentations from all topics of Biomass.
