An Angolan delegation led by its Oil Minister Jose Maria Botelho de Vasconcelos made their way to Washington DC to attend an energy summit to discuss the role Africa plays in the global energy mix.
The “Protection of World Energy Needs Through a Combination of Traditional and Alternative Fuels” event was aimed at bridging the gap among energy policies, resources, and technologies in a global perspective. It also focused on diversifying the energy mix via conventional methods with renewable/alternative energy sources.
The Angolan delegation also included the administrator of the Angolan state-owned oil company SONANGOL, Mateus Morais de Brito, the CEO of SONAREC S.A, António Orfão, the CEO of SONAGAS, Paulo Gouveia Júnior, deputy director of the Oil minister’s office, Adérita Francisca da Silva Pascoal and head of the department of the Ministry of Oil, Alfredo Joaquim Rafael.
