RENEXPO Vistor Count Up-Sets Record

Release–The RENEXPO® sets a new visitor record

11th international trade fair comes to a successful close

Once again, Augsburg was the place for future oriented developments. From October 7th-10th, The 11th RENEXPO® International Trade Fair for Renewable Energy Efficient Building & Renovation provided an excellent display of how simple and environmentally friendly the energy supply of the future can be. With its unique broad range of topics, the RENEXPO® once again established its position as one of the most important trade fairs in the area of renewable energies and energy efficiency in building and renovation in Germany.

About 350 exhibitors presented their innovative products, technologies and services to about 14,000 visitors at this year’s RENEXPO®. Around 900 conference participants were in attendance to exchange information at the accompanying conferences. The range of topics covered everything from energy consultation, subsidies and financing, biomass and cogeneration, energy efficient building and renovation to green mobility, heat pumps, solar technology, wind energy, hydropower and green jobs.

The trade fair continues to grow internationally as well with over 50 exhibitors from 14 countries showing the strong international interest in this German platform for renewable energies. In addition, delegations from Singapore, the Philippines and Romania among others attended the RENEXPO® to inform themselves of the Germany energy market.

“The RENEXPO® 2010 with its trade conferences is the market and exchange platform for knowledge, information, development, innovation and practical implementation,” according to Bavarian State Minister Helmut Brunner at the grand opening of the trade fair on Thursday.

“The RENEXPO® is still growing! The enormous stream of visitors was amazing. The path has already been laid out for a successful 12th RENEXPO®,” said Elisabetta Alberti, Project Manager of the RENEXPO®.

“This something I haven’t seen in a long time – the exhibitors were more than satisfied, and the record breaking visitor count speaks for itself. We already see the number of exhibitors and the exhibition area starting to grow,” according to Günter Armbruster, Head of Sales for REECO GmbH.

The highlights of this year’s RENEXPO® included the new program items Mayor’s Day and Agriculture Day. Over 60 community representatives from all over Bavaria came together to discuss the energy supply of the future for local communities. Leonhard Keller, the president of the Swabian chapter of the Bavarian Farmers’ Association (BBV), opened the event together with C.A.R.M.E.N. e.V. and the editorial department of the magazine Joule.

The conference program of the RENEXPO® that accompanied the exhibition informed over 900 experts at 8 conferences dealing with current issues, political framework conditions, technologies and products surrounding renewable energies. The International BBE Conference for Wood Energy celebrated its 10th anniversary on October 7th and 8th. “The conference has developed over the years to become the leading information exchange and knowledge platform for the German wood energy industry,” according to Bernd Geisen, General Manager of the Bundesverband BioEnergie e.V. (BBE) which organized the conference along with the Bavarian State Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Forestry, the German Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Consumer Protection and the Fachagentur Nachwachsende Rohstoffe e.V. (FNR).
