Sustainable Marine Technologies (SMT), the innovative company creating practical engineering solutions for the marine renewable energy industry, has become a corporate member of RenewableUK.
The move is another step forward for the young and dynamic integration engineering consultancy which has experienced strong growth since its formation in 2008.
Today SMT is working with a number of major players such as Voith Hydro and is involved in deployment and vessel design projects as far apart as Korea, Scotland and Africa.
Managing Director, Jason Hayman, says: “SMT enables renewable energy organizations to overcome the unique problems they face in designing, building, deploying, installing and maintaining successful tidal, wind and wave projects cost effectively.
“Our multi-disciplined team is totally committed to creating a step change in the costs of deploying renewable energy technologies in the challenging marine environment, and ensuring that we have a viable way of beating the world’s addiction to fossil fuels.
“As part of our commitment we are proud to become a corporate member of RenewableUK. We will be contributing to the organization’s work in encouraging the shift to renewable energy, developing positive policies in this vital area and providing commercially viable solutions for the renewable energy sector.”
Maria McCaffery MBE, Chief Executive of RenewableUK, says: “We are delighted to welcome Sustainable Marine Technologies as a member of RenewableUK and very much look forward to Jason Hayman and his team playing an active role in our work as the leading professional body for renewable energy.”
Sustainable Marine Technologies provides a full service to solve the challenges of the marine renewable energy sector – from concept design, through detailed engineering and planning to project management and implementation, on deadline and on budget.
At the same time the company is developing new techniques, systems and products on its own initiative to meet the sector’s needs – today and in the future.
SMT’s motto is: ‘Innovative thinking – practical solutions’.
