Solar Homes for Nigeria

A US businessman is looking to promote solar homes in Nigeria. According to a report out of Nigeria, Gray Boge, has indicated an interest to partner with the Nigerian government and/or entrepreneurs to build houses that use solar power.

"I am planning a partnership with Nigerians so that together, we can undertake businesses that will lead to the construction of low-and-medium income homes in Nigeria, fitted with solar power panels," Boge said to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN). According to Boge, the essence of the partnership was to tap into the abundant supply of solar energy in Nigeria, as well as cope with the inadequate power supply in the country and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The houses, if built, would be made available to Nigerians at affordable rates, through a Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) arrangement. Boge, who is the President of US-based Trimarro Homes, urged the Nigerian government to partner with Trimarro to enable Nigerians to benefit from houses, fitted with "nature’s lighting system.” Boge said “It is a complete package either in two or three bedroom design, equipped with all fittings and modest furnishing.”
