SureChill Fridge Debuts in Senegal

True Energy has developed the SureChill fridge to store vaccines via renewable energy with its first units to hit Senegal and Vietnam. Stewart Jones of True Energy said, "This month will see the first units being shipped to Vietnam and Senegal. It’s extremely exciting because you’re making a real difference."

The refrigerator, using an energy storage system, can maintain the required vaccination temperatures for up to 10 days without additional power. Denis Maire, a technical officer in the WHO’s department of immunization, vaccines, and biologicals, said it was a unique system not used by any other manufacturer.
