South Africa’s state-owned utility Eskom announced that it would shut down part of its Koeberg nuclear plant (Koeberg 2) starting on March 14. "Koeberg Unit 2 will shut down for its scheduled refueling [and] maintenance," the utility said in a statement.
Scheduled to be reopened by the second week of May, the utility will continue to run the Koeberg 1 at full capacity.
