Hosting the Olympic’s winter games in Asia is top of the list for PyeongChang, and its pitch to get ahead of its competitors: hosting “truly green games.”
The South Korean province is vying for the opportunity to host the 2018 winter Olympics and has been developing environmental infrastructure expansion projects directed at conserving water, vitalizing ecosystems, improving biodiversity, and recycling waste materials including energy.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) will announce the 2018 Winter Olympic host on July 6 in Durban, South Africa. Other contenders up for host are Munich, Germany and Annecy, France.
