Rwanda inaugurated three new micro-hydropower plants constructed through a Belgian-Rwandan partnership. The $15 million plants have the capacity to produce 3.2 MW of electricity, and will increase the power output of the country’s national grid by 5%.
According to Marc Pecsteen, the Belgian ambassador to Rwanda, more than 300 households were connected upon completion of the transmission lines.
