General Electric has confirmed that it is looking to carry out several projects in Tunisia in the areas of renewable energy and water desalination. GE’s president and CEO of Northeast Africa Sofiane Ben Tounes met with Tunisian prime minister Hamadi Jebali adding that GE would create nearly 300 jobs in the country.
GE is also reviewing its re-entry strategy into Libya, holding meetings with government officials within the post-Qaddafi country.
