Proinso, a PV supplier, launched a Solar Energy Solidarity program to help underprivileged groups lacking the financial or technical resources to generate solar PV energy by donating equipment for a number of projects in Africa and Latin America.
The company will donate for projects in Togo with the first being an installation of 1.320 kWh arrays that will provide power to six classrooms and school offices benefiting around 9,200 people. The second project in the African country will center around the drilling of a new water well and installing a raised deposit for water which will be pumped to the surface using 1.320 kWh PV array.
In Benin, the installation of an off-grid 1.3 kWh array at a drop-in center for street children will be completed. The project at the El Foyer center will be conducted in conjunction with the NGO Jóvenes y Desarrollo, and will consist of installing a PV array on one of the centre’s terraces, which will include an energy storage system.
