Gabon to See Two New Hydropower Plants

The African Development Bank (AfDB) has approved a €57.5-million loan for Gabon’s Coder Hydropower project which will include the design, construction, and operation of two hydro projects.

The scheme is expected to generate 122 MW and ultimately plans to increase generating facilities from 373 MW to 1,200 MW by 2020. The 70 MW and 52 MW plant are expected to be complete within two years.
