Release
The production output of PV installation managed by Solarig O&M during the first 6 months of 2012 reinforces the company’s strong management, exceeding in +7.8% the forecasted production for the first half of the year and reaching a total of 81.7 GWh during this period compared to the estimated 75.8 GWh.
The increase is motivated by good management and supervision of the PV assets supported by optimal solar radiation levels and the strengthening of the Groups’ R&D area. This translates directly into improved performance of the facility, obtaining a Performance Ratio of 83.1%, 2.1 points higher than estimated for the first half of 2012.
Assets located in Spain lead the increase in production during this period with an average of +9.1%, highlighting the facilities located in Zone I with +27.4% of overproduction. Also, the Italian plants yield positive figures with an average overproduction of +8.6%, where regions of Marche with +14.8% and Tuscany with +14.5% recorded the highest values.
Eduardo Garcia, Solarig’s O&M director has exposed “The positive data reached by the company during the first semester, reinforces the confidence granted by a large number of investment funds and companies who are willing to maximize the return on its investments”.
The increase in the installation’s performance, due to all the efforts done by Solarig’s O&M division, also consolidates its Research & Analysis services as well as confirms the positive results obtained after implementing DC-DC maximizers in some of its installations.
An example of this success is the Spanish PV Plant of Matapozuelos (Valladolid), where Solarig O&M has been able to harvest the maximum power available from every (PV) array reaching a +3% overproduction after the installation of these DC-DC converters/maximizers. These devices permit to minimize losses especially in detected cases where the arrays are affected by shadows, mismatch or some unknown failure. The follow up of this over performance can be controlled, module by module, through monitoring software.
Solarig efficiency improvement policy reinforces the group commitment to its operation and maintenance service, endorsed by the positive production and performance results and its clients confidence, allowing the company to continue with its constant growth, totalizing up to 201MW under management.
