Cameroon’s PV Aspirations Close with Antaris Solar’s eKiss

Although confirmation on Cameroon’s plans to implement a 100-MW PV project has still yet to be seen, the country just commissioned Antaris Solar for its off-grid PV product. The eKiss system will have its African debut in Cameroon to provide secure energy supply to off-grid regions.

The group has partnered with SAF Solaire Africa and Village 21 with country manager Barton Shasha saying, “Both our partners and customers very much appreciate the robustness, output performance, and high degree of user-friendliness which eKiss is able to deliver.”

The technology is capable of charging up to ten mobile telephones simultaneously. “Africa has regions where mobile communications networks are up and running despite the absence of an electricity grid,” said Shasha. “Using Mini eKiss as a mobile public charging station is an effective business model in such areas and also fosters telecommunications expansion.” eKiss provides a stand-alone off-grid solution which is capable of flexible configuration, whereas mini eKiss has been dubbed its “little brother” due to the portability it offers.
