Abductions continue to run rampant in Nigeria usually centering around the country’s oil loot; however, Islamists in the north have now claimed an employee from a French renewable energy company.
Nigerian Islamist group Ansaru have claimed responsibility for the kidnapping citing France’s ban on full-covered veils and its support of the “military attack on Muslims in northern Mali.” Francis Colump was abducted on December 19 when gunmen attacked his residence close to the Niger border.
