With dealings in developing countries, Swedish technology company Flexenclosure AB will obtain equity investment from the International Finance Company (IFC). The company supplies power optimization solutions, dubbed eSite, and modular data centers to mobile telecommunication operators throughout sub-Saharan Africa, India, and southeast Asia.
The total project cost is estimated to be around $18.2 million and IFC plans an equity investment of up to $9.1 million alongside the company’s existing major shareholders, according to company’s project disclosure.
Flexenclosure’s aim is to expand to increase telecommunication coverage in rural areas through sustainable power supply for mobile telecom towers. eSite solutions provide up to 90% of energy cost savings for off-grid and unreliable mobile towers. The technology is an energy-efficient, integrated system that uses wind and solar power to cut diesel costs and carbon emissions.
