Solar Finally Heating up in South Africa

Solar energy has at last reached South Africa, becoming a viable solution for sustainable energy spanning from residential areas to commercial entities; however, further research and development is still necessary to realize the country’s full solar potential.

According to Edwin Koot, CEO of leading global solar energy conference organizers, Solarplaza, local companies need to determine how they can tap into solar without depending on government tenders and subsidies. He said, “We will also pay attention to how solar, as an alternative energy source, can be best marketed – a key element in its successful development."

Upcoming conference, The Solar Future, will host over a hundred high profile business leaders, global energy experts, and government representatives.
