Tanzania Conducting Wind Feasibility Studies

Wind East Africa Ltd. continues to measure wind speeds and soil stability to establish the potential for wind energy projects in Tanzania, according to the country’s deputy minister for energy and minerals George Simbachawene.

Once findings are released and the highest potential areas located, the government will survey the proposed projects and ready contracts to buy land from residents. Simbachawene said the company has been conducting meetings with the villagers to educate them on the project as well as to involve them in the whole issue.
