Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, Angola’s Prime Minister, expressed satisfaction at the rising level of production from the Capanda hydroelectric dam. While speaking to the press following his visit to the Capanda Dam, the Minister praised the management for its work in bringing electricity to the region, training personnel, and employing Angolans.
Beginning to generate power in 2003, the Capanda hydroelectric dam includes four power generators with the capacity to produce 130 MW each. The training center at the dam opened in 2007 and educates workers in electrotechnics, electromechanics, and dam operation.
