Two French Journalists Killed in Mali

As kidnappings and turmoil continue in Mali, the country saw two French journalists murdered in Kidal on November 2. The victims were taken hostage by armed gunmen days after four French hostages were released in Niger by Al Qaeda’s North African branch, AQIM. Those hostages had been held captive for three years.

French renewable energy firm Vergnet’s Francis Collump is still being held after being taken on December 19, 2012. A video was recently released of him on September 29.
