The rise of solar equipment could see a new solar assembling plant being set up in Ugandan capital Kampala. Local news New Vision reported that the plant, a partnership between local firm Clean Energy Partnership Africa (Cepa) and German company J.v.GThoma GmbH, will total around €4 million.
The facility will help reduce the costs of solar panels as a result of local manufacturing with Cepa CEO David Ebong saying that funding issues and discussions were currently being held with development partners.
