China’s Hanwha Starts Off-Grid Project in Cyprus

The join Hanwha-SUNLIGHT project, using off-grid PV systems, will provide energy for the company’s 15 base stations in the mountain region of Cyprus. The system replaces diesel-powered generators saving the company 142,500 liters of oil per year and 370,000 kg of CO2 emissions.

This is the first project implemented by Hanwha and SUNLIGHT since signing strategic agreement. "We see great potential in off-grid energy solutions worldwide with Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean as especially promising regions – mainly for telecommunications and residential applications," said Stefanos Latinos, commercial director for stationary batteries, energy projects & service solutions, SUNLIGHT.
