South Africa’s Energy Minister Ben Martins said that the Department of Energy (DoE) would offer more MW to the third window of the Renewable Energy Independent Power Producing Program (REIPPP) as a result of the heightened interest from additional bidders.
The program has five windows with 64 renewable energy projects being approved by the government since December 2011. The fourth window is expected to release another 1 GW of renewable energy and is on track to take place in August.
