Swaziland Could Produce 100% Renewable Energy

Royal Swaziland Sugar Association’s (RSSC) managing director Nick Jackson said Swaziland could be the first in the southern African region to produce 100% of its energy from renewables. He said: “What needs to happen is that the forestry and the sugar cane industries need to come together and formulate a method to produce renewable energy. We need to engage government and see what we can do to contribute to this idea.”

RSSC has already undertaken renewable energy endeavors with the use of ethanol as a biofuel feedstock, and Jackson said that the firm was investigating more renewable energy sources.
