The US’ Overseas Private Investment Corp. (OPIC) has climbed onboard joining several financial institutions and private lenders to help provide capital for Kenya’s Lake Turkana Wind Power (LTWP) project.
OPIC will provide an investment guaranty of up to $250 million for the 300-MW project. “This is a historic project and underscores the US government’s support for powering Africa,” said OPIC president and CEO Elizabeth Littlefield.
