French hydrocarbon giant Total S.A.’s subsidiary, Total Nigeria Plc, has launched the world’s first solar-powered service station in Lagos. Equipped with SunPower solar panels, the refurbished T-air service station continues the oil and gas firm’s commitment to renewable energy.
Alexis Vovk, Total Nigeria Managing Director, said: “Total Nigeria has already rolled out numerous T-air projects, 58 already throughout Nigeria. The company plans to adapt its network of over 500 service stations spread across the country to this new identity by 2017.” The company has already commissioned 16 new T-air image stations this year, including an additional solar-powered service station to be rolled out in Abuja.
