US company SunEdison, Inc. announced that it will install 159-kW of solar PV micro-grids with battery storage in six remote Indian villages which will help 4,875 people living off the grid.
The firm will start construction of the micro-grids in September, post-monsoon season, and will commission the projects by December. The micro-grid scheme will be completed under India’s Rural Electrification Corp.’s (REC) decentralized distributed generation system.
