Areva signed a €300-million contract with South Africa’s state owned utility, Eskom, to replace steam generators at the Koeberg nuclear power plant. The firm will design, manufacture, and install six steam generators in the plant’s two reactors. Areva will also provide the associated engineering services.
The production of the steam generators are set to begin immediately with installation scheduled in 2018. The project will be jointly deployed with the South African industrial partners.
