Solar developer SkyPower could aid Egypt in meeting its energy needs. To that end, officials from the company met with Egypt’s Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab and Egyptian Electricity Minister Mohamed Shaker.
During their meeting SkyPower officials let it be known that they were interested in helping Egypt attain its goals and participate in the country’s plans and to build a project to generate new and renewable energy at a capacity of 3,000 MW within five years.
Egypt’s cabinet spokesman Hossam Qawish said Prime Minister Mahlab welcomed the company’s readiness to participate in new and renewable power projects currently under study in Egypt. Moreover, Qawish also referred that the government is studying offers received from a several power firms.
SkyPower recently announced a bilateral agreement for 3,000 MW of solar PV projects to be built in Africa.
