Cross-Industry Cooperation between Solar and Building International Solar Energy and Green Building Conference & Exhibition 2015

Green building, with its concept of buildings’ harmonious coexistence with nature, has developed into a major trend in building industry in recent years. As clean and sustainable energy, solar can undoubtedly help buildings go green. Today’s world is witnessing more and more diversified application of solar energy to green buildings, and the green building industry actually is the most promising market for distributed PV power generation in the future.

Against such background, SNEC (2015) PV POWER EXPO, taking place on 28-30 April, 2015, is to present the “International Solar Energy and Green Building Conference & Exhibition” concurrently, with the aim to promote solar application market, strengthen cooperation between building industry and solar industry, and take the led to go green in building design and engineering.

The Organizers of SNEC2015 devote Hall N2 exclusively to “Solar Energy and Green Building Application”. Developers in solar application, architectural design institutes and firms will converge on the Exhibition in Shanghai, displaying demonstration projects, award-winning designs, latest achievements in BIPV, successful cases, etc. in the field of solar application and green building.

Approved by Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, supported by European Commission, DG JRC, International Union of Architects (UIA), and Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development (ENEA), “SNEC (2015) International Solar Energy and Green Building Conference & Exhibition” is co-hosted by Asian Photovoltaic Industry Association (APVIA), Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Tongji University, Shanghai Research Institute of Building Sciences (SRIBS), The Architectural Society of Shanghai China (ASSC), Shanghai New Energy Industry Association (SNEIA), WIP-Renewable Energies, and ETA-Florence Renewable Energies, managed by Shanghai Environmental Science Information Technology Exchange Center, and with Architectural Journal, Time + Architecture, Building Science, Construction Science and Technology, Energy, and Xinhua News Agency for media coverage.

Well-known experts in architectural design and solar engineering at home and abroad have joined SNEC (2015) International Solar Energy and Green Building Conference. The Conference is co-chaired by Prof. Zhen HUANG, Vice Chairman of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Prof. Zhiqiang WU, Vice President of Tongji University, who are to be present at the event and deliver speeches. Prof. Hongwei TAN, Executive Vice Director of Green Building and New Energy Research Center of Tongji University, Prof. Jian ZHANG, Director of Architecture Design and Landscape Environment Research Center of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Director of the Specialized Committee on Ecological Development of The Architectural Society of Shanghai China (ASSC), Mr. Peter HELM, Managing Director of WIP-Renewable Energies, and Ms. Angela GRASSI, Managing Director of ETA-Florence Renewable Energies, who are also Executive Director and Executive Committee Member of EU PVSEC respectively, act as Executive Chairmen of the Conference.

The Organizers of “SNEC (2015) International Solar Energy and Green Building Conference & Exhibition” have launched the “2015 Challenge Cup of Solar Building Design and Engineering” as a highlight of the Conference and practical application of the concepts and technologies advocated in the Conference.
