Canadian oil and gas drilling company Artumas received the East African Power Industry Convention (EAPIC) Ten Years of Excellence award for power generation and positioned Tanzania top in the regional alternative energy market.
Artumas’ Managing Director, Salvator Ntomola said that Artumas had found its space in the alternative energy market and was planning to play a major role in power generation for
’’With our niche starting to take shape, our immediate goal is to ensure power generation for the whole of Mtwara and Lindi Regions and the further provision for the rest of the country through the national grid,’’ Ntomola said, after receiving the regional award for Excellence in Power Generation.
’’In alignment to our company’s vision, we are also looking at the possibility of exporting the energy to neighboring countries as a source of foreign exchange for the country. This, however, will be after satisfactorily satisfying the needs of our domestic market,’’ he added.
