Egypt’s New and Renewable Energy Authority (NREA) will be launching a tender in the coming weeks for firms to establish solar and wind power plants. The NREA is looking for the tender to result in projects that will add more than 2,000 MW to Egypt’s renewable energy generating capacity.
Rules regulating tenders will be determined according to technologies targeted by the projects, and the capacities sought will be based on the national electricity grid’s ability to accommodate them, reported Daily News Egypt, quoting NREA head Mohamed Salah Sobky.
