Bluecongo Launches at African Games Brazzaville

The Bolloré Group and Qatar are launching Bluecongo, a JV to develop electric transport and clean energy production infrastructures in the Republic of Congo (ROC). The launch is aimed at supporting the West African country’s ambitions by providing “clean” technologies that meet the needs of sustainable economic development.

The JV is being launched during the African Games Brazzaville, a major event for the ROC and the African continent as a whole.

Bluecongo will provide with 50 electric cars and 14 electric buses during the games to the officials and sporting delegations to get around the competition’s different sites in Kintélé. The vehicles are equipped with Bolloré’s LMP (Lithium-Metal-Polymer) batteries, a unique technology designed by the Bolloré Group, these reliable and high-performance vehicles have an exceptional range which  means they can be driven all day without recharging.

Four stations and 80 charging terminals have been installed to power the fleet of vehicles with clean electricity, supplied by solar panels.  A solar panel array connected to containers filled with LMP batteries, which can produce and store solar energy and then release it when needed, day or night, has been installed to charge the vehicles.
