Budget car rental has sent users a reminder on just how green the market is getting, especially in car rentals. And with today’s rising fuel costs, it could mean big bucks for penny pinchers.
Budget has announced its eco-friendly services and initiatives that include e-Toll™, which allows customers to avoid idling the car and reducing air pollution by using automated toll collection lanes. Paying for tolls electronically can reduce carbon emissions by 40% to 63%, according to the “Assessment of the Impact of Electronic Toll Collection on Mobile Emissions in the Baltimore Area.”
In addition, the car rental company will implement the 2®GPS Navigation system which will allow real-time traffic alerts to help driver avoid traffic jams and in turn lower fuel costs/emissions; a learning program to make a rental vehicle “carbon neutral;” smart car washes that reuse 80% of wastewater; and clean diesel shuttle buses that operate at Budget airport locations.
Just as the slogan says, “With Budget, you will make the smart choice.”
