Nigeria’s Zungeru hydroelectric power plant is now almost 50% complete. The $1.29 billion 700-MW hydro power plant, located in the Niger State, is 47% complete according to CNEEC-Sinohydro Consortium, the Chinese firm handling the project.
The deputy project manager of the company, Xiao Nie, speaking to the press in Abuja said that the plant is expected to be complete in 2020.
The project is comprised of four units of 175 MW each and the first phase will be commissioned by December 2019 while the remaining units being launched after every three months after that.
